Dear Diva…

Hey Diva, Not sure what I am supposed to do. I know that now is the perfect time to buy a home but unfortunately I can’t afford to buy a single family home and am only able to buy a condo but all of the places I’ve looked at have weight restrictions and there is no room on the complex to run free. What should I do? Get the condo and forgo the pups?

DL,
Although it seem slike you are caught in a catch 22 situation keep in mind that there are dogs parks EVERYWHERE nowadays. If you live in the SF East Bay I could show you at least 10 local dog parks for dogs big and small. One of my favorites is the trail just as you get to Chabot park. Steep incline at first but then it tapers off and you can see all of San Leandro, Oakland and sometimes if its really clear you can see all the way out to the Bay Bridge. One of my favorite spots is the one in the picture. Its at the top of the Chabot peak, one single solitary bench with a pure view of the lake below. See my two pups Foxy Brown and Lily White? They love, love LOVE the Bay Area dog parks. You can go to Pt. Isabel in Richmond, Fort Funston in San Francisco, Alameda’s dog park, San Joaquin Dog Park off of Redwood Heights, Mill Valley’s dog park right near the skate park at Mill Valley Middle School or you can cruise down to Santa Cruise and find the steel steps on your way to the West Side of the light house.
Make yourself happy. No mattter where you are living get the Dog Lover’s Companion. You an pick it up at any local shop for your area and find out where the best dog parks are and if they are allowed off leash or not. Makes a difference.
So…just because you have pets and there might be restrictions dont let that stop you from getting into a good opportunity. Buy your home and then Just follow your fellow dog lovers.
