2008 statistics of female home buyers…

         Want to know what women are doing on the home buying front? 

-       14.4% of all home buyers in 2008 were single female

-       3.1% of all home buyers in 2008 were single female with dependents

-       65.9% of these single female and single female with dependents home buyers bought a detached single-family home in 2008

-       26.8% of them bought a condo or a townhouse

-       27.4% of them bought a distressed property

-       39.3% of them were first-time buyers

-       72.9% of these female home buyer moved within the same county

-       16.0% of the female home buyers who moved out of the county they previously resided because of housing affordability issue

-       20.0% moved out of the county they resided because of they wanted shorter commute

-       Median age of female home buyers: 45

-       Median household income of female home buyers: $80,000
