Exciting news today - HUD secretary Shaun Donovan announced that FHA has come up with a way to let First Time Homebuyers use the new $8000 tax credit as part of their down payment when they buy their 1st home. It used to be, and often still is, when someone was buying property, or wanting to refinance, the woman, (or man), would spend time calling mortgage brokers, banks, and going on line to find the “Best Rate.”
It’s an elusive concept. There is no “Best Rate.” You would need to get a quote from every one of the 25,000 lenders and mortgage brokers in California in the same half hour, and then hope they tell you the truth. Read more
