Last week I was hauling butt to watch a few minutes of my son’s baseball practice/scrimmage in Mill Valley. Parking was tight as I rounded the corner to get to the community Center when I noticed a hub bub, crowds of people and police cars with flashing lights. What’s this, a ruckus in Mill Valley? I parked and dashed off to the baseball fields but not before I caught a glimpse of Obama with a Hitler mustache. Read more

statistics21Marin is an interesting market. There is 8 1/2 months worth of  of inventory on the market right now. A slight decline over the last two months but still a significant amount of inventory for buyers to choose from.  The average days on market is 95 which has been consistent since February 2008.  The median price for a home in Marin County fell between $675K and $780K for the last 5 months. I see white people…diversity in “good” communities

Remember the movie The Sixth Sense with Bruce Willis and the kid in the movie says “I see dead people” well in my quest to find a new place to call home with no crime rate, a lovely environment, great public schools, clean and green community immediately brings to mind that movie only with the saying, “I see white people.”  

If I want all of the characteristics and qualities of the list above that means, I’m afraid to say, that I’m going to be giving up diversity.

Mill Valley with its beautiful Mt. Tam surroundings, cute shops, the Depot’s square and vibrant neighborhoods still continues to do well in comparison within Marin County as a whole. As we know interest rates are still at an all time low and you can certainly buy up in Mill Valley. The average home price is 986K vs $1.5M a year and a half ago. If you can afford it its a good time to get in Mill Valley.
